The Best Room in the House

Oh the nursery... I have been pinning "someday baby things" for years now.  Narrowing down some sort of design/theme was close to impossible. I had waaaaay too many things I had found that I loved that didn't go together at all. Perfect. We aren't big theme people anyway. Anyone that has been to our funky little house knows we have a pretty eclectic style.

I always get asked what our nursery theme is... well it's black and white and colorful with luchadors and lions... totally makes sense... right?!? We have no nursery theme beyond "these are a few of our favorite things".  We think they all go together beautifully. Enjoy!

It's all in the details

The Only 2 Week Wait That Didn't Suck

When you have been trying to conceive for as long as we have, you have lived through a number of 2 week waits. The "two week wait" or TWW in the fertility blogging community is the time from your treatment whether that be injections + timed intercourse, insemination or embryo transfer to the time you take a pregnancy test.  Let me tell you, those 14 days are brutal. They feel like they go on forever and they are full of fear and doubt, hope and dreams... it's emotionally draining and we lived through 2.5 years of them. Every month another 2 week wait.

This two week wait was so very different. This was my 38-40 week of pregnancy.  This was the two week wait that the only unknown was when we would meet our miracle McCoy. I'm not saying there weren't still a HUGE array of emotions to go through.  Excitement, fear ( holy shit we will be in charge of a person!), sadness ( I LOVED my pregnancy and being pregnant. I had become very attached to my bump and was sad to see it go. I loved feeling him move and kick. I loved having him with me all of the time.)

I found the best quote to describe our journey:
"SOMETIMES, IT MAY SEEM THAT GOD FORGOT TO WRITE YOUR STORY, DON'T WORRY, HE'S BEEN SCRIPTING SOMETHING WORTH WAITING FOR"

McCoy Taylor Wiechman was born June 23, 2016 at 1:54 pm via cesarean section (birth story to come soon!) He was worth every second spent tpraying for him, every blood draw, needle stick, heart break, negative test, procedure... During those years of struggle, I could never have known what God had in store for us. The greatest and most beautiful gift.
